Haha! Where did that monster thing come from? Another great blog post, and such fascinating photos. Does he somehow shoot them square or does he crop them? How does he get that interesting color cast? I've never more ... "artistically smitten" with him!

By the way, that "big Canadian guy" is an interesting twist on a familiar character, the Anonymous Bad Caucasian Actor In Chinese Movies. That guy must have been one of the first to become one *in his own country.*

Ermz... the word is 妙miao... probably influenced again by Taiwan pop culture. On PTT the BBS system, some people type certain Chinese words in this manner to place emphasis(the word stands out, looking bigger, draws attention) or in some cases, act cute. Eg 幹 (not sure if it can appear here... it's a quirk unique to text only systems, think pre WWW days when we had to use ANSCII sysmbols to make pictures
十人
人
日一
十十
or simpler ones like 女子=好, 禾口=和, 兼欠=歉,口馬=嗎

frankly, i think when he went “女少”, he is emphasing on the word 妙 by breaking up the formation of the word... as 妙 can also be intepreted as "fascinating"... as for the word "girl/s", it is curiously the opposite of 妙 - 少女 ... guess that says a lot about how fascinating girls can be!
