New movie Exit No. 6 (六號出口) from Taiwanese director Lin Yu-Hsien (林育賢 ) will feature Sodagreen’s “Little Love Song” as the theme song. The story has to do with a series of strange occurrences around Taipei’s Ximending, though the director introduced it to the band as a love story. After seeing the film, Sodagreen commented that they’d all been to Ximending a number of times, but had never had anything like this kind of feeling about the place before.
Past films from Director Lin include Jump! Boys (翻滾吧!男孩) and short film Pray for Graffitti (鴉之王道 ).
It might be time to think about giving Sodagreen their own blog category. Hmmm.
Yeah do that and as long as you’re at it make one for Leehom too!
(in my best Charlie Brown voice) I can’t stand it. I just can’t stand it.
I suppose before long you’ll decide you want me to start updating Leehom news, as well?
Well, if you’re going to aspire to grow as a blog and become the definitive source for Mandopop news in English, you’ve got to expand your scope a bit, right? A little Leehom news in your balanced and wryly amusing writing style would go a long way to balance the absolute fawning silliness I see on other Leehom fan sites in English!
I don’t remember ever aspiring to be anything like the definitive source for Mandopop news, as that would require me to write about a wide variety of acts I can’t tolerate, not to mention the fact that I have nowhere near that much free time. But I’ll give the Leehom thing some thought.
Wait a sec, just how many Leehom fansites are you reading now?
I did not mean to imply in any way that you should be following ALL Mandopop news but certainly the good stuff besides Mayday is fair game, and so clearly that means Leehom! I can’t stand to read ANY Leehom fan sites, the ones I’ve looked at are too saccharine and swoon-y. The boy is a talented musician and I want to know more about that, not about how cute he is!
It’s true, you already know full well how cute he is, without anyone going on a website to tell you. (Oh, if you can’t tease your own sister, who can you tease?)
There’s not going to be much on Leehom other than on the swooning “he looked so adorable in this advertisement/performance/appearance” theme until he gets close to releasing the new album, supposedly in early July (it keeps getting pushed back). If there is *real* news then, I’ll write about it. But just because you asked, and it warms my heart to see you so enthused about Mandopop.
