There are still bits of concert news trickling out from last weekend; little details like the fact that the boys in Mayday could smell the off-stage food stalls while performing in Toronto (no doubt causing some mouth-watering anxiety) and that they are still clearly the “rain gods” of L.A. Two years ago, when Mayday performed in California last, they brought heavy rain to both San Jose and L.A.; this time, L.A. had not seen rain in three months, but once Mayday arrived, the heavens opened. There are a few pics here. There’s also lots of good concert discussion for both shows going on here. Steve has a songlist up on his site for the L.A. concert, and teases us that his full review is coming soon. If you’ve read his reviews before, you’ll know that this will be one to watch for.
[Update: Steve’s review is, in fact, now up. Run, don’t walk, to MaydayBlue. We’ll wait.]
In the meantime, however, there has been some talk about whether or not it is time to try to set up a central “Mayday Fans in the Americas” website. (We’d hate to say “North America” and completely isolate the scattering of fans in the southern continent.) As such, Joanna (a superfan from CA) has some questions for the crowd, if we can find one:
1. Where geographically are you located in the Americas (no need to get too specific here – country and/or general direction, state or province is fine)
2. What Mayday-related sites do you visit regularly (this question, it seems to me, is for everyone, whether or not they are in the Americas)
3. Would you like/use a site that allowed you to chat with other Americas-based Mayday fans? Any particular content you’d wish for?
My sense is that if there are no replies, then we have our answer and there’s just no need for such heroic efforts at the present time. But with Mayday fans emerging from the woodwork this week to join in the concerts, if we do want to set up something, now is a good time to do it.
